The Gallery
The Wimbledon Group is a collective of 10 artists working in many different styles and mediums and producing a wide variety of work and who are all presently based at The Wimbledon Art Studios. The group is comprised of figurative, landscape and abstract painters; ceramists; sculptors and a published cartoonist. Founded by artist Alan Carlyon Smith, the collective has existed for many years in one form or another, exhibiting around London and the surrounding area and, whilst the membership may change, its essence remains the same.
In the Autumn of 2020 the group was given the opportunity to take over an empty shop unit in Wimbledon’s Centre Court Shopping Centre and all of the artists worked together to open a beautiful gallery space showcasing their work and co-run the gallery 6 days a week.
